Art Dolls
Fool The Art doll featured here is my first attempt at the craft. The head was modelled in wax and a silicone rubber mould was made. I then cast one only in resin, and refined and painted this with acrylic paints. The finished head was then dipped in molten candle wax to give the transluscent skin effect. The body is a wire armature and was wrapped in cotton rags to build up the body shape. The hands are carved in wood and painted, the robe is cotton and the figure stands on a spalted beech stand.
